Children of the Corn: GMOs Don't Qualify As Food

Salem-News.com, May 26, 2011

Antibodies from women with a rare condition known as immune infertility are used in the creation of GMO food.

(LONDON) - There has been a concerted national effort by citizens to have the US government label GMOs. Opposing it are government intent not only to keep them unlabeled in the US but efforts at the international level by the US government to remove all labeling of GMOs through Codex. The problem is that Codex applies to food, and GMOs don't qualify.

William Engdahl wrote in March of 2010 about a USDA funded project to create a GM corn that sterilizes people.

One long-standing project of the US Government has been to perfect a genetically-modified variety of corn, the diet staple in Mexico and many other Latin American countries. The corn has been field tested in tests financed by the US Department of Agriculture along with a small California bio-tech company named Epicyte. Announcing his success at a 2001 press conference, the president of Epicyte, Mitch Hein, pointing to his GMO corn plants, announced, “We have a hothouse filled with corn plants that make anti-sperm antibodies.”

Hein explained that they had taken antibodies from women with a rare condition known as immune infertility, isolated the genes that regulated the manufacture of those infertility antibodies, and, using genetic engineering techniques, had inserted the genes into ordinary corn seeds used to produce corn plants. In this manner, in reality they produced a concealed contraceptive embedded in corn meant for human consumption.

Hein claimed it was a possible solution to world “over-population.”

The questions raised by "[s]permicides hidden in GMO corn provided to starving Third World populations through the generosity of the Gates’ foundation, Rockefeller Foundation and Kofi Annan’s AGRA" are many and profound.

If the USDA is funding the creation of a corn crop that sterilizes, is it not committing a crime in poisoning those who are on the receiving end? And according to the UN, is it not also committing genocide, a crime against humanity, in damaging the reproductive ability of any group?

(Excerpt)...Along with the scientifically absurd proposition of reducing manmade CO2 emissions worldwide to zero by 2050, approximately four and a half minutes into the talk, Gates declares, "First we got population. The world today has 6.8 billion people. That's headed up to about 9 billion. Now if we do a really great job on new vaccines, health care, reproductive health services, we lower that by perhaps 10 or 15 percent."

Taking Liberties: Forced Vaccinations?

Fox News, May 26, 2011

In 1999, Madison’s older sister developed autism just months after receiving her state-required immunizations for measles, mumps and rubella.

And so two years ago when it came time for Madison to receive her immunizations, Workman said no. Her elementary school in Lenore responded by barring Madison from attending class. And thus began a two year legal struggle with the State of West Virginia that may very well determine the limits of parental rights in America in regard to vaccines.

Workman says she was shocked when the principal told her Madison had to receive the shots. “Helpless,” she said. “I mean there is no other word for it. I am helpless. I feel forced."

Workman’s attorney Patricia Finn is an expert in forced vaccination cases and she is outraged. “This is a basic human right,” she said. “To be able to decide what is injected in our bodies, in our children’s bodies, is everything.

Unfortunately, last December, the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals disagreed, and Finn now is vowing to take the case to the Supreme Court if necessary.

“This is a First Amendment issue. This is a 9th Amendment issue. This is about basic freedom,” she said.

MSG linked to weight gain

Reuters, May 27, 2011

Researchers found that people who eat more MSG are more likely to be overweight or obese. And the increased risk wasn't simply because people were stuffing themselves with MSG-rich foods. The link between high MSG intake and being overweight held even after accounting for the total number of calories people ate.

Ka He, a nutrition expert at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, who led the study, said that although the risk of weight gain attributable to MSG was modest, the implications for public health are substantial. "Everybody eats it," He told Reuters Health.

MSG is one of the world's most widely used food additives. Although it tends to be more popular in Asian countries, Americans manage to get their share in processed foods, from chips to canned soups, even when it's not labeled as such.

New studies reveal evidence that cell phone radiation damages DNA, brain, and sperm

Kurtzweil, May 24, 2011

New independent studies offer proof that confirms findings from the Council of Europe: pulsed digital signals from cell phones disrupt DNA, impair brain function, and lower sperm count, according to a statement by the Environmental Health Trust (EHT).

On May 23, a think-tank of experts organized by Gazi University and EHT convened at a workshop in Istanbul, Turkey, “Science Update: Cell Phones and Health,” to present the findings.

Prof. Nesrin Seyhan , WHO and NATO advisor and head and founder of the Biophysics Department and Bioelectromagnetics Laboratory at Gazi University in Ankara and founder of the Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (GNRP) Center, found that just four hours of exposure to RF-EMF disrupts the ability of human brain cells to repair damaged genes.

Should we drug the drinking water? Adding lithium to the taps 'could lower suicide rates'

Maybe we should ask ourselves why our government is desperate to dope us into submission? -Ed.

Daily Mail
, May 25, 2011

Lithium has been heralded by some experts as the next potential flouride, after scientists found suicide rates were lower in areas where the drinking water had higher concentrations of the element.

Researchers from the Medical University of Vienna compared the suicide rates in different regions of Austria with the natural lithium concentrations in the drinking water. The study, published in the British Journal of Pyschiatry, analysed a sample of 6,460 lithium measurements and then compared suicide rates across 99 districts.

Dr Jacob Appel, from Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, said the latest studies provided 'compelling' evidence of the mood-stabilising benefits of lithium.

He said the U.S already supplemented the drinking water with flouride to prevent tooth decay and it would be relatively easy to add lithium, which is a naturally occurring element. He added: 'People who oppose adding lithium to the drinking water in trace amounts don't go around advocating to strain the lithium from the drinking water from areas where it does exist.

'Why not give everyone the same benefit?'

What You Don’t Know About Aspartame Could Kill You

Opposing Views, May 24. 2011

This is probably worth an entire article all by itself, but the basic information is this: Aspartame is poison.

But don’t take my word for it.

How about referring to fact that aspartame was classified as a neurotoxin before it was approved by the FDA as a sugar substitute in the early 1980s?

How about the fact that straight out of the package you can use it as a very effective insecticide? Ant killer anyone?

CDC Autism Researcher Indicted for Fraud

WarOnYou, May 22, 2011

American prosecutors are attempting to extradite a Danish scientist. Poul Thorsen has been charged with 13 counts of wire fraud and nine counts of money laundering; a federal grand jury alleges that Thorsen stole over $1 million from autism research funding between February 2004 and June 2008.

The Copenhagen Post reports:

“… [O]ver the four-year period he submitted over a dozen false invoices from the CDC for research expenses to Aarhus University, where he held a faculty position, instructing them to transfer the funds to a CDC account, which was in fact his personal account …

Thorsen’s research on autism is widely known in academic circles, where he was until this week a highly respected figure. A paper of his on the subject, which is known as ‘The Danish Study’, is quoted extensively to refute the autism vaccine connection.”

...
Another prominent name in vaccine medicine, Dr. Paul Offit, well-known shill for the vaccine industry, has also been called out for making false and unsubstantiated statements about CBS News Investigative Correspondent Sharyl Attkisson and her report looking into the ties between vaccine supporters and the vaccine industry.

Marmite made illegal in Denmark

The Daily Telegraph, May 25, 2011

Many well known breakfast cereal and drink brands have already been banned or taken off supermarket shelves after Danish legislation in 2004 restricted foods fortified with extra vitamins or minerals.
But Marmite had escaped notice as an exotic import for a small number of ex-pats until the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration telephoned Abigail's, a Copenhagen shop selling British food, to ban the famous yeast spread.

"All the English people here are shaking their heads in disbelief and say that it is insane. I agree but it is the law. It's becoming impossible to run a business in this country. We are not allowed to do anything anymore. It is the way Denmark is going."

93% of Unborn Babies Have GMO Food Toxins in their Blood

Salem-News.com, May 20, 2011

(SALEM, Ore.) - A new medical study on the impacts of genetically modified (GM) foods, shows that toxins from GM crops designed to strike down pests are actually showing up in the bloodstreams of women and unborn babies.

The results of the study show that 93 per cent of blood samples taken from pregnant women and 80 percent of samples taken from umbilical cords, tested positive for traces of the chemicals.

This is highly problematic for Americans, where literally millions of acres have been taken over by these Monsanto generated crops. The GMO seeds carry a traceable blueprint and organic farmers whose fields have these non-natural crop seeds blow onto their land, are subject to lawsuit from Monsanto.

Is Big Pharma Ignoring a Potential Cancer Cure?

Fox News, May 18, 2011

One of Salk's admirers is Evangelos Michelakis, a cancer researcher at the University of Alberta who, three years ago, discovered that a common, nontoxic chemical known as DCA, short for dichloroacetate, seems to inhibit the growth of cancerous tumors in mice. Michelakis' initial findings garnered much fanfare at the time and have recirculated on the Web again this week, in large part because of a blog post ("Scientists cure cancer, but no one takes notice") that ignited fresh debate with people wondering if it was true.

The mechanism by which DCA works in mice is remarkably simple: It killed most types of cancer cells by disrupting the way they metabolize sugar, causing them to self-destruct without adversely affecting normal tissues. The preliminary work in rodents, cell cultures, and small trials on humans points to DCA as being a powerful cancer treatment.

Like Jonas Salk, Michelakis hasn't patented his discovery. It's not because he doesn't want to, but because he can't. When it comes to patents, DCA really is like the sun: It's a cheap, widely used chemical that no one can own. In today's world, such drugs don't readily attract funding.

Chicken pox vaccine now required for enrollment at ETSU

TriCities.com News, May 19, 2011

Incoming students who will begin full-time classes at East Tennessee State University starting this summer and beyond will be required to show proof of having the Varicella (chicken pox) vaccine or proof of immunity to this disease.

This policy is part of a new state law that applies to incoming new full-time students at all Tennessee colleges and universities, including those in undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs.

New students must receive two doses of the Varicella vaccination, which are given at least 28 days apart. ETSU will allow students to register for full-time courses for one semester if they have had only the first of the two vaccinations; however, the second vaccination must be administered before they can register for the following semester.

In addition to Varicella, ETSU students must show proof of having at least the first of two doses of the MMR (mumps, measles, and rubella) vaccine. As with the case of the Varicella vaccine, the second MMR dose must be administered before the student can register for the following semester.

New Law Requires Pertussis Vaccine For Older Children

10News.com, May 18, 2011

A new law may prevent older children from attending school if they are not vaccinated against whooping cough. County officials are expressing growing concern over the spread of whooping cough – also known as pertussis – which is at epidemic levels not seen since 60 years.

Last year, 10 newborns died in California from whooping cough. Two of the 10 died in San Diego. Both of those deaths were infants under the age of two months. However, questions were raised over the vaccine's effectiveness and why pediatricians say the vaccinations should begin at such a young age.

"The immunizations are only 80 percent effective but that's why we give it to children at 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 18 months and 5 years," said Dr. Philip Szold, a pediatrician in La Mesa.
However, in 10 California counties, including San Diego, between 44 and 83 percent of those diagnosed with whooping cough had actually been immunized.

Toxin from GM Crops Found in Human Blood

India Today, May 19, 2011

Fresh doubts have arisen about the safety of genetically modified crops, with a new study reporting presence of Bt toxin, used widely in GM crops, in human blood for the first time.

Genetically modified crops include genes extracted from bacteria to make them resistant to pest attacks.

These genes make crops toxic to pests but are claimed to pose no danger to the environment and human health. Genetically modified brinjal, whose commercial release was stopped a year ago, has a toxin derived from a soil bacterium called Bacillus thuringiensis ( Bt).

Till now, scientists and multinational corporations promoting GM crops have maintained that Bt toxin poses no danger to human health as the protein breaks down in the human gut. But the presence of this toxin in human blood shows that this does not happen.

Florida Legislature Refuses to Limit Mercury in Vaccines

PRNewswire, May 9, 2011

On Friday, May 6, 2011, in Tallahassee, Florida, a Republican State Senator filed an amendment to regulate vaccines containing mercury in Florida. The amendment would have made it illegal to buy, sell, manufacture, deliver, import, administer or distribute any vaccine that contained more than 0.3 micrograms of organic or inorganic mercury per milliliter for children younger than age 7 or pregnant women. Despite support for this vaccine safety measure, the amendment was voted down.

Concern continues that mercury, in the form of Thimerosal, is still used in vaccines at all because mercury is recognized to cause cancer, genetic mutations, miscarriages and birth defects. Today, 2-phenoxyethanol, an economical, less toxic alternative to Thimerosal, has been used as a preservative in some formerly Thimerosal-preserved U.S. vaccines licensed since 2001, because of the 1999 call by the U.S. Public Health Services and the American Academy to remove Thimerosal from U.S. vaccines "as soon as possible."

This amendment would have afforded pregnant women and young children significant protection from mercury exposure through flu shots, where most doses are still Thimerosal-preserved and are routinely recommended for administration to children and pregnant women.

Anthrax vaccine: Children targeted for testing

The PPJ Gazette, May 9, 2011

On May 2, 2011, Department of Health and Human Services announced it will buy 3.42 million doses of Bio-thrax a vaccine developed by the military to counter its weaponized anthrax that it also developed. The problem is, the vaccine is known to be worthless in the event of an attack because of the time it takes to become effective (they don’t know for sure that it is) and you have to get two doses of the vaccine to get any benefit at all.

It was a great day at BioSolutions. They just unloaded millions of doses of an untested, unproven and most likely worthless white elephant they purchased from the military. But Biosolutions wants to test their vaccine on kids just the same.

In what is clearly a profit motivated plan devoid of any sense of morality or ethics, Department of health & Human Services (DHHS) another of those corporate federal agencies which operates devoid of any meaningful oversight, is planning on using a little known provision of 45 CFR-46.407 to allow the use of unapproved, untested and questionable pharmaceuticals of all kinds on children and will now be used to allow Emergent Biosolutions to test their useless and deadly vaccine for anthrax, on children.

Environmental Toxins Cost Billions in Childhood Disease

TIME The Healthland, May 4, 2011

Back in 2002, Philip Landrigan and a team of other researchers at Mount Sinai Medical School estimated the annual cost of four childhood conditions — lead poisoning, cancer, developmental disabilities and asthma — that could be connected to environmental factors. The numbers were surprising: Landrigan estimated that the environmental factors cost as much as $54.8 billion, or about 2.8% of total U.S. health care spending in 1997, the year the study drew from.

The conclusions were obvious — environmental pollution and toxins were a significant drag on the economy, and there was an economic case to be made for reducing childhood exposure...In a new study in Health Affairs, Trasande and Liu have included autism and attention deficit disorder in the mix, and they now estimate that environmental disease in children costs some $76.6 billion. "That's over 3% of total health care costs," says Trasande. "The environment has become a major part of childhood disease."

FDA approved Big Pharma drugs without effectiveness data

OpEdNews.com, May 4, 2011

Consumers constantly are told how complicated it is to get a new drug on the market. After all, researchers have to jump through all sorts of hoops to assure safety before new therapies are approved for the public, right?

In fact, huge red flags are being raised about how drugs are tested and approved in two new studies, including one just published in the May 4th issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).

A case in point: it turns out that only about half of the new prescription medications pushed onto the market over the last decade had the proper data together for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration - yet the FDA approved them anyhow.
